We understand the urgency of the illness or injury that you have. We will work with you to diagnose and treat the problem at hand. At Downtown Urgent Care, you can be confident that you will receive the prompt and friendliest service in town.
Are 24/7 Healthcare in Downtown St. Louis and Creve Coeur really open all the time?
Correct. We are open in the middle of the night, even on a holiday. We don't miss a beat, 24 hours a day, every single day of the year. We do NOT close. Ever.
How much does a visit for urgent care cost?
It really depends on whether or not you pay with insurance (and depending on your co-pay) and the particular circumstances of your policy and how much you've already used it this year. If you don't have insurance/Medicare/Medicaid, then a cash visit is typically $250. If you are seen between 11pm and 4am, then the cash visit is typically $200.
What is my copay for urgent care?
With insurance you can expect to pay from $0 to $75 to cover your visit.
What forms of payment do you accept?
What minor injuries, illnesses, and treatments should I go to Urgent Care for, instead of the ER?
Cold, flu, or fever symptoms
Sinus pressure, sore throat, or earache
Sprain or strain
Rash, minor burn, or insect and animal bites
Suturing of lacerations
Drainage of abscesses
X-Rays
EKGs
Nebulizer treatments
IV fluids
When does an urgent care NOT have the best resources for a patient's illness or injury?
If something is out of our scope, we give report and transfer patients safely and quickly to the best hospital for proper treatment. At the same time, we only recommend and order things like CT scans and ultrasounds for example, when our patients actually need them. Unlike some day clinics where the focus is profit rather than patient care, we do not order tests to increase income.
Do I need to make an appointment or should I just walk in?
No. While you may pre-register before you are seen, please feel free to walk in without setting up an appointment.
Can an urgent care doctor prescribe antibiotics?
Yes, but only when it's appropriate.
Can I get a doctor’s note for my urgent care visit?
Yes. Whether it's for an in-person onsite visit, or whether it's for a telemedicine visit, both of which are available to you 24 hours a day, you can get a work or school note.
Do you offer primary care services too?
Yes! Many of our patients seek to establish a medical relationship with a professional and dedicated physician who has helped them in with an urgent case.
I live out in the county, why would I drive to Creve Coeur or even Downtown Urgent Care?
Even if you live outside the city limits, you'll likely be waiting for hours when in that time, you could get to us in a fraction of the time. Not to mention your copay is going to be a fraction of the ER copay.
What other services do you provide?
We also deliver 24/7 Telemedicine (contactadoc.com) and 24/7 Worker Injury Care for hundreds of employers in the region.
What do I need to know about COVID swabs?
No appointment is needed. Swabs are done 24 hours a day.
Please bring a copy of your ID & insurance card as well.
Wait times are abysmal, but we are open 24/7. We are least busy between 11pm-4am, at both locations.
Rapid test takes 15 minutes after swabbing. It’s $100 if you're paying by cash, but it is fully covered by some insurance plans.
Free PCR test which takes 2-3 days to return following the receipt by the lab.
